FIVE RICHEST NIGERIA’S PASTOR

Spread the love

The country is blessed with notable men of God, who over the years have risen to become major forces to reckoned with in Christendom. They pastor huge congregations and wield enormous influence in political and economic circles. They labour in the Lord’s vineyard, yet they are stupendously rich. These men of God are not only rich but are setting the pace in the art of wealth creation, business management. One will marvel at the value of the estates and earthly possessions on, which they sit and superintend. Although there are many of such pastors in the wealth circle, five of them clearly stand out, given their carriage, life styles, investments and popularity. Not many will fault the likes of Pastor Adeboye of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Bishop David Oyedepo of Winners Chapel, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of Christ Embassy, Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua of Synagogue Church of All Nation and Pastor Kumuyi of Deeper Life Christian Church, as the ‘Big Five’ among several other affluent ministers of God. BOLA AKINBOADE presents to you these richest Nigerian Pastors.

BISHOP DAVID OYEDEPO

Bishop David Oyedepo. is the founder and presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide, popularly known as Winners Chapel.

Oyedepo is seen as one of the pioneers of the Christian Charismatic movement in Africa and has been referred to as one of the most powerful preachers in Nigeria.

The Winners Chapel network of churches is present in over 300 cities in all states of Nigeria, as well as in over 63 cities in 32 African Nations, Dubai, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. He also presides as the senior pastor of the acclaimed Faith Tabernacle, a 50,000 seater-church auditorium, reputed to be the largest church auditorium in the world by the Guinness Book of Records.

Famous as the Faith Tabernacle is, it is just one structure on a vast expanse of land known as Canaanland.

Also situated in Canaanland is the Covenant University, of which Oyedepo is chancellor; a secondary and a primary school.

As part of his empire, Oyedepo established Dominion Publishing House and has written about 70 books covering various aspects of the Christian faith, teaching followers how to be successful in business. The books are bestsellers in their own right and have been translated into French. Oyedepo established Gilead Medical Centre with its headquarters in Lagos and the church medical facility relies on both divine intervention and medical expertise. Winner’s chapel also sells gift items online. It’s website bears information on the use of these and how to buy. “Our gift certificates are the perfect gift solution. Put an end to those tricky moments when you just can’t seem to find the right gift or you need a gift in a hurry.

With it’s long product chain, Oyedepo’s Winners’ Chapel is something close to a corporation. And like a socially responsible corporation, it has made its presence felt in Nigeria and outside.

The Bishop himself lives like a mogul. He owns a garage of state-of-the-art cars and own two private jets (Gulf stream 1 & Gulf stream 4). He also has a list of powerful friends that includes President Olusegun Obasanjo, who frequents the church, former Senate President, Anyim Pius Anyim, disgraced police boss, Tafa Adebayo Balogun and many captains of industries.

PASTOR ADEBOYE

Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, fondly called “Daddy G.O” is the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). He leads one of the fastest growing churches in the country. The humility of Pastor Adeboye is so well known and reflected in everything that surrounds him, which has become the hallmark of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, which he has led since he was appointed the head of the church in 1981.

Adeboye is a man of God, who has been a tremendous blessing and inspiration to numerous people and drawn lost souls to salvation by the grace of God. He dresses simply, speaks softly, but arrests almost effortlessly the attention of the rich and the poor. Under him, the church has grown exponentially dozens of parishes. It is currently Nigeria’s most ambitious evangelical project, establishing, according to the church, three parishes daily. It is easily the fastest growing church in the world. Every parish established within one year sends 10 per cent of its tithes and offerings to the headquarters.

But the church’s most famous landmark is the Redemption Camp, a monstrously vast acreage located on the Lagos/Ibadan expressway. It hosts the monthly camp meeting called Holy Ghost Night which, according to the church, attracts crowds of between 800,000 and 1.2 million. Held on the first Friday of every month, the camp also hosts the Holy Ghost congress, the church’s biggest event of the year. The Redemption camp is a town on its own. It has banks, residential quarters for staff and members, wealthy enough to buy. It also has a good network of roads and other utilities. It is the site of the Redeemer’s University of Nigeria (RUN) and a secondary school, Christ The Redeemer’s School Movement, both owned by the church. Aside from its educational institutions, especially its many parishes, which run money-spinning day-care centres and nursery schools, the church also realises income from Haggai, a community bank established in the 1990s. Yet, there is the Dove Media, a company established to oversee RCCG’s television, radio Internet and publishing ventures. He is also among pastors who own private jet. 2. Quite interesting post. The only observation I made is on Pastor W.F. kumuyi my encounter with an insider revealed that this pastor doesn't touch money. You will never see him raising up money for tithe /offering,he give everything to God.
It is church duty to feed him and clothes him as well as the family.
He does not collect honorarium neither will allow his host to pay for his transport fare. He does not has a building for himself or the family, he lives in church property. The CR4 jeep he is using now was given to him by one of his comrade(one of the earliest member now a pastor in the church)who frowns at him using old Peugeot car.
He hardly collects gift from people or organisation and if he is compelled to collect it, he gives it to the local church there immediately. He does not has other business or activity apart from preaching and administration of the church. His transparent and exemplary life endears him to his lieutenants and church member. no wonder you hardly here scandalous story written about him in the press.
