LAGOS CELEBS STORM BOLA AWOSIKA’S MUM 80TH BIRTHDAY PARTY

Bola Awosika is one of the leading event planners in town. She is the brain behind B’Event, an outfit that has handled a lot of high profile events within and outside Lagos. She is also well known with her Laviva hair range, which has become one of the most sought after hair pieces in the country. Recently, she and her siblings hosted a memorable 80th birthday party for their mum. The event which took place on Sunday February 7, 2011 kicked off with a thanksgiving service at the All Saints Church, Yaba in the early hours of the day. This was followed by a grand reception at the Function Place, Herbert Macauly, Sabo-Yaba, Lagos. In this report, City People Fashion Editor, BOLA AKINBOADE brings to you gist from this event.

ABOUT THE CELEBRANT
The celebrant Mrs Abigail Aduke Awosika(nee Awojinrin) was born on February 6, 1931 in Lagos, and got married to her beau in 1951. She is a housewife, mother and successful business woman. She is also the patron of several societies in All Saints Church, Yaba such as YWCF, Morning Star, Prayer Band and others. She is one woman that is well loved by all because of her amiable personality. She is also blessed with children who are all doing well in their chosen field of endeavor. Her children include Engr Tokunbo Awosika( who resides in the UK), Moji Jacobs, Ose Awosika, Gbenga Awosika, Buki Awosika and Bola Awosika. They were all present at the ceremony and made sure they did not spare anything to give their mother a memorable birthday party.

AN AMBIENCE OF PURPLE AND SILVER
The color of the day was Purple and Silver, and this can be reflected in the total look of the day as most of the guests were clad in purple Aso-Ebi with a matching silver accessory. The reception hall, The Function Place, Yaba which was beautifully decorated also wore an ambience of Purple and Silver, which was jazzed up with lighting effects. The reason for the choice of purple color is to match the significance of her birthday anniversary. Purple is also a royal color, and the celebrant is actually a princess from Ijebu Remo, Ogun State.

LAMIDE OJO COMPERED THE EVENT
The event was compered by Lamide Ojo. She is one of the newest female masters of ceremony. She is also a family friend to the Awosikas .With impressive eyes and endearing personality, this lady gets her audience charmed by her enchanting voice and dialect.

WHO DID WHAT
The event had an array of the best mind in the event industry offering their various services. The event took off with a thanksgiving service at the All Saints Church, Yaba, after which the guests were treated to a reception which took place at The Function Place, Yaba.The decoration of the reception venue was handled by Bevents, Laredo, the king of fingerfoods supplied all the small chops, Desert Delicious was responsible for the deserts and appetizers and the celebrant cake was provided by 360 Eventee.

BOLA AWOSIKA PLANNED THE EVENT
Lagos Big Girl and Laviva Hair Boss was on her feet all through the event to ensure that all the guests were well taken care of and also very comfortable. She is actually the last child of the celebrant. Apart from her fashion and hair outfit, she also has an event outfit, Bevent. That was actually what brought her to limelight as her event outfit had handled a lot of high profile jobs in Lagos, Abuja and other parts of the company. And her outfit was responsible for the planning and coordination of her mum’s 80th birthday. She played the role of a perfect host at the event. She also had her good friends, Aisha Archimugu, Dayo Adebayo, Bunmi Obakoya and Joko Adeusi who gave her helping hands.

AN ARRAY OF LAGOS BIG GIRLS
The event had a lot of Lagos Big Girls and Top Society ladies storming the venue to honour Bola Awosika. This include the likes of Sade Alesh, Arinola Adeniyi, Aisha achimugu, Dayo Aadebayo, Ronke Ademiluyi, Sola Amode, Joke Adeusi, Adaobi , Bibi, Aadewunmi Yesufu, Bunmi Obakoya, Bisi Ibidapo Obe amongst others. They were also cynosure of eyes at the event as they all looked stunning in their dresses. They added class and glamour to the event.

STAFFERS OF OGUN STATE JUDICIARY WERE THERE
Another set of people that were well represented at the event were civil servants from Ogun State Judiciary. They came all the way to be part of this event. This is because one of the celebrant’s daughter, Moji Jacobs is married to the Chief Justice of Ogun State, Remi Jacobs.

…………..AND THE SUPER BIG BOYS ALSO CAME
Quite a number of the Lagos Super Big Boys were also present at the event. They all came to honor the invitation of the celebrant’s daughter, Bola Awosika. They include Bolaji Esho( Eldorado Boss) , Kola Rahmin, Tayo Ayeni , Lanre Ogunlesi( Sophisticat Boss) and others. They all had fun all through their stay.

UNVEILING 360 EVENTEE
360Eventee is an Event Planning and Logistics, Theme Development, Exotic Cakes (Wedding, Anniversaries, Birthday, Novelty, Character), Catering Services,
Cocktails and Drinks, Well-Packed Hampers (Christmas, Corporate, Picnic, Expression, Fruit Hampers etc) amongst others. It’s the brainchild of Sanyaolu Ruth. Her name is synonymous with creativity and style as everything she touches is always extraordinary. She made the unique celebrant cake at the event.

SHARP BAND THRILLED THE GUESTS
The guests were treated to a first class entertainment by one of the best band in Lagos , Sharp Band. They have proven their worth in the world of entertainment.
Sharp Band is an indigenous entertainment outfit formed a couple of years ago to take music entertainment in Nigeria to a higher level . They have consistently organized and maintained a high standard of live performances since its inception. They have played at a lot of A-class events that had happened in recent times. The style of music is a fusion old oldies, hip hop, contemporary, Africana, highlife and jazz. And they thrilled the guest with their sensational performances all through the event ensuring that there was no dull moment.
