More and more super single babes in Lagos and other cosmopolitan cities in Nigeria are choosing to live a single life, and shunning marriage. This set of ladies are not interested in settling down with a man they will call their husband as they have tagged themselves ‘Single by Choice’, with no strings attached. These set of women are in their 30s, attractive, assertive and financially secure, independent, and capable of taking care of themselves without any assistance from any man.
This is now the new trend among most super single ladies, especially the Island Big Babes. They live large in posh apartment and have everything that money can buy to make their lives comfortable. Though this new decision has continued to raise eyebrows among families and friends who believe in marriage institution, most of them are not even bothered. For most of these ladies, they arrived at this decision because of different reasons.
To a large extent, heartbreaks and disappointment in relationships have been responsible for why most of these ladies are shunning marriage and choosing to remain single. They have suffered series of heartbreaks in the hands of men and found it difficult to fall in love with any man again. The harsh economic condition is another reason why some of them are shunning marriage, as it has become more difficult for most of them to find their desired husband and most of the men that can match their status are still hustling and struggling and marriage. And after waiting for so long and cant find man, and the fact that time is against them, marriage doesn’t seem a priority for them again. They begin to feel they can enjoy a happy and fulfilled life without a partner.
For some of them, they are shunning marriage in favor of their career and the single life. They have allowed their sophistication and a career that fetch them mega bucks get into their head. While for some; they feel it is a burden having to live with a man who will order them around for the rest of their life.
For some of these women, it’s because of the fact that age is no longer on their side, and as a woman grows older, the pool of male attention dwindles. So now that time is no longer on their side, they would rather reach for certainty (using a sperm bank), than continue to draw blanks with uncertainty, as they wait for another relationship that may never come. And with divorce on the increase, the marriage institution is no longer attractive as before to this current generation.
Initially, what most super single babes did was to look for an old boyfriend that can get them pregnant. The guy, most time, is also usually married and obviously there won’t be commitment. But this became complicated as a result of the boyfriend’s wife getting to know about the child outside, and crisis setting in.
The next thing they also do is to date men, but right at the back of their mind, they don’t want to settle down with these men, all they just want is to get pregnant and not interested in settling down with the father of their child or him taking responsibility. But nowadays, most men are also beginning to see through them, so most eligible bachelors who are dating these ladies will never have unprotected sex in as much as they are not ready to have a child out of wedlock.
So what these ladies have resolved to do is to look for sperm donors and with this, it becomes less complicated. In Nigeria the sperm donors/sperm bank are made available at most of the Fertility Centers in the country.
Obviously, before a woman decides to go this route of getting a donor specimen from a sperm bank, she would have fully explored the pool of men around her.
The male donates his sperm knowingly or unknowingly to fertilize the lady who wants to have a baby of her own. The sperm donor is actually paid good money for this service. And she has a child of her and nobody bats an eyelid. Most women who use the sperm bank option, are often older single women who have tried all natural methods they know to become a mother, but have come up short every time. And with this arrangement, there is no conjugal arrangement between the mother and the father of the baby and the woman has total control and responsibility on her child. And because the process is less complicated in as much as the woman has money to pay for the sperm donor service, more and more super single babes are now embracing this method as an alternative way of getting by with men.
