NEXT TOP MODEL GOES TO AFRICA: OLUCHI CHOSEN AS MAIN JUDGE
Supermodel and past winner of M-net face of Africa
Oluchi Orlandi will host the first ever pan-regional version, ‘Africa’s Next
Top Model’. The reality competition series will be shot
primarily on location in South Africa and is slated to air pan-regionally in
Africa on the MNET Africa Magic channels in 2013.
Oluchi will serve as host and executive producer,
and South African Tourism is sponsoring the show, which will begin production
in August in Cape Town. Models will be selected from eight countries throughout
Africa.

Studios International has sold the African format rights for America’s Next Top
Model to New York-based LuLu Productions, owned by Oluchi.
“I am excited to be hosting Africa’s Next Top Model
and it is great to be part of the successful America’s Next Top Model franchise
that Tyra Banks created and has hosted for an impressive 20 cycles thus far in
the U.S.,” said Orlandi. “The African version of the franchise is long overdue
and I expect the show to be a smashing success across the continent.
The host of America’s Next Top Model, Tyra Banks also shares in the joy. She expressed her excitement by tweeting: “So excited to welcome Oluchi to the
next top model fam . Welcome to antm Africa!”
