FROM LAGOS TO LONDON TO PARIS NOW TOKYO: KUNLE AFOLAYAN TO SCREEN FIGURINE AND PHONE SWAP AT TOKYO FILM FESTIVAL

Nollywood actor turned producer director; Kunle Afolayan is
on his way to Tokyo, Japan to attend the Cinema Africa International Film
Festival.
The award winning movie maker will be screening two of his
blockbuster movies, The Figurine and Phone Swap at the festival to a very large
audience.
The festival which will be held at Auditorium Shibuya from
May 18-23, 2013 is organized by Committee of Cinema Africa and supported by
Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Cinema Africa is a non-profit organization in Tokyo, Japan,
established in 2006 with a mission to develop understanding and appreciation of
Africa in Japan through African films made by African filmmakers and producers.
Cinema Africa is the only African film festival in Asia and the Pacific region.
The organization also distributes African films to non-profit organizations,
non-governmental organizations, and municipalities.
They believes that films made in Africa portray the true
voice of Africa, and not the films about Africa made in Hollywood or western
media.
