ABDUCTED VANGUARD NEWSPAPER COLUMNIST, KOGBARA REGAINS FREEDOM
Ms. Donu
Kogbara, the Vanguard newspaper columnist that was kidnapped by armed men
outside her Port Harcourt, Rivers State home on August 30 has been released by
her abductors. Donu was released on Friday night and has returned to her
residence, the police spokesman in Rivers State, Ahmad Muhammad (DSP) said in a
text message to journalists.

clear whether a ransom was paid for her release. Kidnapping for cash is a
common occurrence in southern Nigeria. The state Commissioner of Police, Mr.
