BRITISH FASHION COUNCIL HONOURS TOP FASHION PHOTOGRAPHER, NICK KNIGHT

The British Fashion Council has announced that Britishfashion photographer, documentary photographer, and web publisher, Nick Knight will receive the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator at this year’s British Fashion Awards.

Knight has enjoyed a prolific career in the fashion industry. From the publication of his first book, Skinheads, in 1982 and his collaborations with a selection of the most esteemed names in the fashion industry, to his award-winning editorial work for  Vogue –  among many other publications – and his hugely successful online fashion-film platformSHOWstudio, Knight has been an industry innovator at every given opportunity.

Knight’s work has been exhibited at theVictoria & Albert Museum, Saatchi Gallery, the Photographers’ Gallery and Hayward Gallery. He has produced a few books of his work including the retrospectives Nicknight (1994) and Nick Knight (2009).

He has shot album covers for Björk, Elvis Costello and the Attractions, Boy George,David Bowie, Kylie Minogue, The Style Council,Lady Gaga, Paul Weller, Gwen Stefani, Cheryl Cole, Seal, ABC and Massive Attack.

Further announcements regarding this year’s ceremony – which will take place on Monday, November 22 – came last month as the nominees were announced, alongside the Outstanding Achievement Award which will this year will be given to Karl Lagerfeld.
