Speaking shortly after the announcement was made yesterday Monday July 11,
May told reporters: “I am honoured and humbled to have been chosen by the
Conservative Party to become its leader.” She went on to pay tribute to
her predecessor, David Cameron for “the leadership he has shown our party
and our country”.
