PETE EDOCHIE CLOCKS 65
Veteran actor, Chief Pete Edochie is 65. Born on March 7, 1947, in the defunct Eastern region of Nigeria, he was educated in northern Nigeria and later joined the Nigerian Railway Corporation after secondary school.
He had a stinct with broadcasting when he joined the Eastern Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation(ENBC) in 1967 and trained with the British Broadcasting Corporation(BBC) in 1980.
His education at the school of journalism and television in England eventually saw him rise to the position of director at ENBC by 1987. He however retired in 1988.
Chief Pete, as fondly called, veered into movie making soon after retiring from broadcasting and has acted in over 100 movies. He, however shot to limelight after starring as Okonkwo in the screen adaptation of the award winning novel ‘Things Fall Apart’ authored by professor Chinua Achebe.
