RETURN OF JENIFA OUT ON DVD
As Funke Akindele’s award winning movie “Return of Jenifa” was pulled out of the cinema house last Thursday, Management of Ozone Cinemas, Yaba, has revealed that the film grossed over N37 million in five months.
The organization also declared the “Return of Jenifa” as the longest running film in the cinema house after the record set by Chineze Anyaene’s multiple award winning movie, “Ije: The Journey” which grossed over N10 million, two years ago.
Return of Jenifa, which is due to hit the DVD market on Monday 27, was one of the most anticipated movies of 2011. It successfully premiered in major cities around the world; of Lagos, New York and Chicago.
The Jenifa CD when it came out several months back sold over 600,000 copies, the Return of Jenifa has so far sold 100,000 copies in just 48hrs that it entered the market, a feat that has made some industry pundits predict she could smash the figures again in term of copies sold.
