SAMSON SIASA LANDS MULTI-MILLION NAIRA COACHING JOB IN INDIA
Sacked coach of Nigeria Super Eagles, Samson Siasia has cause to smile again. The football tactician has landed another juicy coaching job in far away India.
We gathered that Siasia was signed by an Indian club, Durgapur for $210,000(N33.9 million), while former Super Eagles midfielder, Austin Jay Jay Okocha was signed as a player by the same club for $550,000(N88.6 million).
Siasia and Okocha were amongst international superstars, which include Italian player, Fabio Cannavoro; former Liverpool star, Robbie Fowler and Argentine forward, Herman Crespo, who were brought in by the soon to begin Indian Premier League(IPL) to attract both local and international audience.
There were also indications that some international players have been billed to join the league in the nearest future , all in a bid to give the league a celebrity kick off.
Siasia whose dwindling fortune in the Super Eagles led to his sack after he failed to qualify the nation for the 2012 Nations Cup, this time around, the terms of reference for his appointment is less stringent, as he is only expected to bring his wealth of experience as a player and coach to help the Indian premier league from its early stage.
