MAJEK FASHEK @ WAR WITH MANAGER,CHARLES NOVIA
The latest gist making the rounds in the Nigerian entertainment industry is that rainmaker,Majek Fashek and his manager of about 4 years, Charles Novia of who owns November Record label are currently having serious issues bordering on the artiste’s business mismanagement which is being handled by Charles Novia.
Information gathered has it that Majek is embittered with his Manager, Charles Novia that with all the hard work he puts in, commensurate financial returns are not forth coming.
However, it could be recall that Majek was off the music scene for a while before the duo met and entered into a contractual agreement of managing Majek.
The relationship as it looked, indeed turned out to be a very successful venture then from an artistic and commercial point of view, as Majek’s music surprisingly caught on effortlessly with the hip hop incensed youths.
The only minus in the whole thing was that Novia kept promising that Majek will return to the country by November of the year he released his album,to stage concerts across the country and even went ahead to further wet the fans ‘ appetite by releasing a video compilation of live material of the singer from the US)-“ a promise he never fulfilled.
And according to Majek,no credible excuse or even an apology was given by Novia for that.It would appear that a lot of water has passed under the bridge as my people would say,since then”.
Majek Fashek has been in Nigeria for several months now, but from available reports, not at the instance of November Records (Novia’s company
Novia has also consistently responded by affirming that all is well between the two and that the film will go on as planned until now.
Though despite his weaknesses, Majek has been one of the most respected Nigerian artiste.
