NEW BLACKBERRY PHONE GOES FOR N325,000

Blackberry never fails to surprise us. It always makes its mark as a bold cellular phone. Each piece that Research in Motion or RIM produces is sure to make headlines, whether good or bad. The Blackberry P’9981 is not yet released globally but it made its sneak peak at the United Kingdom recently.
Looking at the P9981, the QWERTY keypad is in metal clad. Quite strange it may seem but this design is in accordance to the Porsche design that has set up a partnership with RIM. This phone is initially called Blackberry Knight. The looks of the phone are quite striking indeed but fans of Blackberry are not that sure if they should welcome this look or not.

The Blackberry Porsche Design P’9981 closely resembles its brother, the Bold Touch 9900. This phone is no longer new because it was earlier launched in Dubai last October 2011 and was expected to sell at a retail price of US$2000. Now that it is made available in the United Kingdom, you can purchase this luxurious Blackberry phone at Harrods Department Store at Knightsbridge in London at UK Pounds 1275. The demand is very high and the phone is being bought fast by Blackberry aficionados because this is not going to be available for a long time. It does not come with any contract so buyers have to bring their own SIMs in order to test the unit if it is working or not.
Some of the specs of this Porsche design Blackberry include a 1.2GHz single core processor. It has 1GHz RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The camera at the back of the phone is made up of 5MP while video recording shall give you 720p HD. We should not forget the operating system of this smart phone which works on Blackberry OS 7. The GSM frequencies available includes 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz while the UMTS consists of 900 and 2100 MHz. For connectivity, the Blackberry P’9981 has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
In addition to the features of this sleek Blackberry smart phone, it also contains a forged stainless steel frame with hand wrapped leather back cover. The display is also made up of crystal clear touch display. In terms of the phone’s browser, it utilizes Wikitude World Browser with an augmented reality app experience. In addition to these world class features, the Blackberry P’9981 also has premium, exclusive PINs which will easily help identify another P’9981 smart phone user within the area.
In essence, the Blackberry P’9981 is simply a Blackberry 9900 which is in a Porsche Design outfit. It caters to the high-end class of society worldwide.
Buying a cell phone amounting to US$2000, UK Pound 1275 or N325,000 is not a joke. It is similar to buying a high-end car for you. There is actually nothing new to this phone except that it is in a Porsche Design outfit and nothing more. If you can spend that amount then there is nothing wrong with that but if you find the unit cost quite expensive and not worth the price then you might want to think twice about buying it.
