All roads will, in few days, lead to Harbour Point, Victoria Island, Lagos, as American top gospel act, Chante Moore, who has recorded several hit records will storm Nigeria in grand style.

Moore, 44, born to a gospel minister and grew up singing in the church and later becoming a model at 22, is billed for a musical concert put together by The True Health Foundation. Nigerian Banky W and Wizkid are also expected to be on the bandstand.

The charity concert which is expected to be well attended is to raise funds for any life threatening illness with its focus on indigent, pregnant women suffering from acute renal failure in pregnancy.

According to the founder of the humanitarian foundation, Stella Emmanuel, a banking guru, with over 20 years experience covering corporate, commercial and retail banking as well as internal control and audit, and who, for four years was a victim of chronic kidney failure, the choice of the group is borne out of the fact that Nigeria has the highest incidents of infant mortality rate on the African continent.

The foundation, through concerts and other means also raises funds for charitable works by providing medical assistance, food, clothing to the ill, less privileged and orphans, counselling victims of terminal and non terminal illnesses, and also training relevant personnel and undertaking research to ensure the achievement of its set objectives among others.

The Lagos concert which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 20, 2011, is gathering momentum as bluechip companies and foundations like Redisson Hotel, Roots Cuisine, Sound City, Smooth FM, Hart 2 Hart Foundation and Chrome nite club have identified with the philanthropic project.
