MEET STELLA NWOSU, THE LADY BEHIND PLANIFICATION EVENTS

Planification is one of the wave making events outfit in town. It is the brainchild of Stella Nwosu fondly called “DUCHESS”.
Stella Nwosu is a graduate of business administration from University of Lagos . Her first knowledge of event management was in 2002, but she started working in the event industry in 2004, with renowned event company, Zapphaire Events, owned by Funke Bucknor-Obruthe. Her strong passion and attention to details made her start up PLANIFICATION, an Event, Public Relations and Entertainment Consultancy company, which is known for bespoke concepts, detailed planning and excellent execution.
Stella has planned high profile events with clients in social, cooperate and entertainment circuit; this she’s done across all parts of the country. Because of her level of exposure in the event industry, she has an on-going working relationships of all vendors in the industry. In this interview with BOLA AKINBOADE, she opens up on her business, plus what stands her out.

Bebeakinboade (B.A): How did you start the event business?
Stella Nwosu (S.N): Event business started natural for me, because already I had a vast knowledge and experience on event and business

B.A: How long have you been doing this?
S.N:I have being in the event industry for 7years, 4 years working with a reputable event company (zapphaire event), 3 years working and running PLANIFICATION (off course with my term)

B.A: At what point did you decide to float your own company and what led to the decision?
S.N:I decided to float my company while I was still in university. I love everything event related I could do it for free. The decision was born out of great passion for continuity, improvement of events services and outpouring of creative concept

B.A: How has the journey been so far?
S.N: Its being good, I always give myself very high target for the company. I place the company among the best in the industry; with that we have to keep improving our services.

B.A:How do you source for clients?
S.N:Our services speaks for it, we place adverts; sometimes its referrals – clients we have worked with in the past, vendors we work with, even guest at the events too.

B.A:What would you say makes Planification Events different from other Event outfit in town?
S.N: At Planification events, we work with Bespoke concepts, detailed planning and excellent execution. We provide contemporary and dynamic services to our clients at the best rate. We work with the best efficient, effective and experienced team / vendors.
We know how to attend and service people when they socialize

B.A: Who are your role models in the event industry?
S.N: Funke Bucknor-Obruthe, for giving me foundation to learn the ethics of the business; Preston Bailey for his style and creative ability.

B.A: Did you have any prior training before setting out to become an event planner?
S.N: I’m naturally a creative person, I like to do things differently and improve on things I have done before… That’s my inspiration
I had worked in every aspect of event industry before I started PLANIFICATION. I worked with Zapphaire Event; there I got my training

B.A: What does Planification Events entails? Can you give us a brief detail of all your services?
S.N: As I said earlier Planification is all about bespoke concepts, detailed planning and excellent execution.
We plan / manage all kind of events; prepare budget, consult, advice, coordinate for all kind of events. We also consult for all aspect of public relations and entertainment with the provision of decorations, ushers, event security etc. It’s a total package service providing company for event, public relations and entertainment

B.A: If you were not into events planning, what other things would you have been doing?
S.N: If I wasn’t into event planning, I would have being into any creative practice or maybe a lawyer
